摘要: The habitat use of a stream-dwelling Astyanax taeniatus from the State Rio de Janeiro was investigated. We performed 12 h underwater observation in 200 m long stretch upper Roncador stream and quantified following microhabitat descriptors: (i) water velocity, (ii) distance bank, (iii) substratum, (iv) column depth. Microhabitat selectivity analyzed by comparing used fish available study site as well applying Ivlev Electivity Index to data. Differences availability various microhabitats revealed non-stochastic patterns spatial occupation A. taeniatus, which selective for two four microhabitats. Our findings indicated that taeniatusis associated with habitats have higher depths, low sand bedrock substratum.
