摘要: Receptor tyrosine kinases (RTKs) hold a key position in the complex network of intercellular communication multicellular organisms. The origins 58 RTKs human genome can therefore be traced back to basis metazoans. This chapter provides reconstruction evolutionary history mammalian RTK repertoire and interrelationships families their individual members. Early on metazoan evolution, basic set nine was already present, represented extant invertebrates by one member EGF receptor, insulin FGF EPH receptor families, PDGF/VEGF superfamily, DDR ROR MuSK- PTK7-type receptor. receptors then expanded 16 ancestor chordates. full complement is result two whole duplications that occurred early vertebrate evolution. With third duplication, fish have even more RTKs. gain genes course evolution mirrors increasing complexity cell types, functions, intracrine, autocrine, juxtacrine, paracrine, endocrine cellular interactions.
