摘要: Otitis media with effusion (OME) is characterized by the presence of fluid in middle ear cavity behind an intact eardrum and considered a multifactorial condition Eustachian tube dysfunction as underlying pathophysiologic condition. One most debated causes OME allergy, particular allergic rhinitis. The aim this paper to review role rhinitis development both (AR) non-allergic (NAR). Most recent literature confirms AR OME, while there are few reports on NAR. In children affected obstructive adenoid hypertrophy, mast cells nasal smear was associated high risk developing chronic OME.
