摘要: Magnetic excitations in quantum spin system (CuCl)LaB2O7 (B = Nb, Ta) have been studied by the time-of-flight (ToF) inelastic neutron scattering technique. (CuCl)LaNb2O7 exhibits a spin-singlet ground state with an excitation gap of ?E ~ 2.3 meV, while (CuCl)LaTa2O7 antiferromagnetic (AFM) ordering below TN 7 K. In (CuCl)LaNb2O7, band-like energy width ~1 meV was observed at 2 meV. The magnitude vector Q dependence integrated intensity magnetic around for this well reproduces that triple-axis spectrometer, indicating feature. spectra show modulations both and peak position along direction, which indicates pairs forming singlet are not simply isolated but some interaction. Using dimer model as previous study, modulation is characterized length 8.7 ?, corresponds to fourth-neighbor distance. AFM also shows modulating behaviour spectra.
