摘要: Circadian rhythms are endogenously generated with a period length of about 24-hrs. Evidence gathered over the past decade indicates that circadian timing system develops prenatally and suprachiasmatic nuclei, site clock, is present by mid-gestation in primates. Recent evidence also shows primate infants responsive to light at very premature stages low intensity lighting can regulate developing clock. After birth, there progressive maturation outputs, pronounced sleep-wake hormone secretion generally after two months age. Showing importance photic regulation phase infants, exposure low-intensity cycled results early establishment rest-activity patterns 24-hour light-dark cycle. With continued elucidation development influences on human physiology illness, it anticipated consideration biology will become an increasingly important component neonatal care
