Crack-tip behaviors of stationary and growing cracks in Al-Fe-X alloys: Part II. Crack opening profile

摘要: The crack opening behaviors of monotonically loaded stationary and growing cracks in Al-Fe-X alloys have been examined using the stereoimaging technique. Crack displacements (COD’s) measured as a function distance behind tip at different load levels. By comparing with existing asymptotic solutions, experimental COD results confirm dominance HRR (Hutchinson,[4,6] Rice Rosengren[5]) singularity crack, logarithmic transition from to when extends by small increment. In addition (r) singularity, evidence suggests presence In2 plane stress into intense shear bands.
