摘要: The purpose of this paper is to explore the links between experiences parents and youth within racialized immigrant families gain a better appreciation intergenerational dynamics, drawing on interviews preinterview surveys with 47 their parents. Our thematic analysis data explores diversity families' immigration experiences, labor market challenges for parents, shared family discourses sacrifice opportunity, differences in responses high expectations We conclude that life course transitions experienced by have important consequences children; feel strong sense obligation, obligation problematic significant minority youth. qualitative findings thus temper optimistic picture these presented large-scale studies aspirations attainment.
