摘要: An unexpected precipitate phase was observed in Mg–20 wt% Dy alloy, with a cuboid morphology not compatible any shown the Mg–Dy binary diagram. As by scanning electron microscopy and energy-dispersive X-ray analysis, ratio of atomic percent to Mg is very high these particles, probably largely because poor spatial resolution that technique but already showing mismatch previously characterized compound. High-brilliance synchrotron diffraction transmission experiments confirmed particles are composed DyH2. They formed during sample preparation at room temperature when hydrogen-containing sources such as water used.
