摘要: This article describes and analyzes major laws, decrees, regulations, resolutions, institutional mandates linked to environmental protection policies in Brazil, from 1934 2002. It argues that many early regulations resulted basically centralization planning conducted by a development-oriented state. However, it shows most recent were demanded more environmentally aware organized civil society, the context of participatory democratic political framework improved scientific knowledge requirements.
