Taxonomic revision of the Elephant Pupinid snail genus Pollicaria Gould, 1856 (Prosobranchia, Pupinidae)

摘要: The status of species currently assigned to the Southeast Asian Elephant Pupinid snail genus Pollicaria Gould, 1856 is reassessed. Shell, radular and reproductive morphology are investigated analysed with reference karyotype patterns previously reported distribution among species. Six described recognised: gravida (Benson, 1856), myersii (Haines, 1855), mouhoti (Pfeiffer, 1862), elephas (Morgan, 1885), crossei (Dautzenberg & d’Hamonville, 1887) rochebruni (Mabille, 1887). A new subspecies, monochroma ssp. n.,is proposed a dichotomous key provided.
