摘要: Objectives/Hypothesis To evaluate the clinical characteristics and therapeutic response of tinnitus due to middle ear myoclonus (MEM) suggest appropriate diagnostic methods. Study Design Retrospective chart review. Methods This study included 58 patients with diagnosed MEM, who were seen from January 2004 July 2011. Clinical audiological investigated. The responses counseling, medical therapy, surgical therapy evaluated. Results Patients had a mean age 29.8 years (range, 6–70 years), 20.7% (n = 12) <10 old, 39.7% 23) <20 74.1% 43) <40 5.2% 3) ≥60 old. Remembered stressful events or noise exposure associated onset MEM in 51.8% 30) 27.6% 16) patients, respectively. most frequent nature was crackling sound. forceful eyelid closure observed 15% patients. Impedance audiogram otoendoscopic examinations tympanic membrane helpful tools for diagnosing MEM. With more than 75% exhibited complete partial remission their tinnitus. Patients intractable underwent sectioning tendons very good outcomes. Conclusions Tinnitus seems occur young be related stress noise. Information about this less-common type will help ensure early diagnosis treatment these Laryngoscope, 123:2516–2520, 2013
