Otx and Emx homeobox genes in brain development.

摘要: Over the last few years great progress has been made in understanding of formation and regionalisation mouse brain. In this review we will focus our attention on two families homeobox-containing genes essentially coding for four transcription factors involved brain forebrain development: Emx Otx genes. Here describe expression pattern these developing mouse, as well characterisation corresponding knockout mice with special emphasis Emx2. Whereas are clearly whole rostral brain, comprised midbrain, data suggest a role Emx2 specification cytoarchitecture cerebral cortex, achieved through control proliferation neuronal precursors migration newly-formed neurons to their final destination.
