摘要: In the recently published paper “Magnetic geometry and physics of advanced divertors: The X-divertor snowflake” [Phys. Plasmas 20, 102507 (2013)], authors raise interesting important issues concerning divertor design. However, contains significant errors: (a) conceptual framework used in it for evaluation “quality” is reduced to assessment magnetic field structure outer Scrape-Off Layer. This incorrect because processes affecting pedestal, private flux region all legs (four, case a snowflake) are an inseparable part operation. (b) concept index focuses on only one feature can be quite misleading when applied (c) suggestion rename configurations experimentally realized NSTX (National Spherical Torus Experiment) DIII-D (Doublet III-D) from snowflakes X-divertors not justified: based comparison these with prototypical X-divertor, ignores fact that poloidal geometries fit very well into snowflake “two-null” prescription.
