摘要: In recent years, the term peer group has increasingly been replaced by culture. This chapter begins with a discussion of these two terms and likely reasons for this change. Next, typology cultures is presented based on three different ways in which culture can be created. The presentation followed diversity among generated background characteristics peers such as social class, gender, age, race-ethnicity. then assesses claims that children adolescents frequently conflict teachers’ goals official school encompasses goals. While not rejecting claims, I argue they are simplifying assumptions ignore tensions contradictions within cultures. particular, it useful to separate strands — academic goals, extracurricular activities, rules about deportment show how each affects affected students construct themselves. influence students’ opinions behaviours assessed directly section reviews literature concerned nature strength influence. final implications teaching examining what staffs have done might do affect processes at levels schooling.
