摘要: Abstract The mechanical behavior of crashworthy structures is a hot topic. In this study, square tube reinforced with rivets (STR) was firstly put forward to comprehensively investigate the influence brought from local stiffness reinforcement on deformation mode. axial compression experiments were carried out and results clearly showed that collapse pattern folding sequence improved after riveting. Detailed properties determined for kinds STR different rivet designs. Besides, numerical simulations by means ABAQUS/Explicit further analyze mode evolution. Subsequently, matching effect, effect interaction mechanism between basic structure reinforcing components investigated. Finally, parametric study involving geometric configuration, material impact velocity performed. proposed here will hopefully bring method understand design principle controllability structural stiffness.
