Selective Induction of Delayed Hypersensitivity by a Lipid Conjugated Protein Antigen Which Is Localized in Thymus Dependent Lymphoid Tissue

摘要: Multiple injections of bovine serum albumin (BSA) without adjuvant stimulate production large amounts antibody but no detectable delayed type hypersensitivity (DTH) in guinea pigs. In contrast, single or multiple BSA heavily conjugated with a lipid, dodecanoic acid, , stimulated sustained DTH production. The produced was specific for native and immune response against the fatty acid groups. This change associated area antigen localization popliteal lymph nodes. Native labeled 125 I localized germinal centers bone marrow derived cell not thymic dependent thymus (T) lipid prominently nodes found animals producing pure reactions. These results suggest that well known ability lipids to enhance may be part due lipid-mediated within where it is close association many T lymphocytes.
