摘要: Background: Federally funded surveys of human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine uptake are important for pinpointing geographically based health disparities. Although national and state level data available, local (ie, county postal code level) not due to small sample sizes, confidentiality concerns, cost. Local HPV may be feasible obtain by targeting specific geographic areas through social media advertising recruitment strategies, in combination with online surveys. Objective: Our goal was use Facebook-based estimate variation among young men women Minnesota. Methods: From November 2012 January 2013, were recruited via a targeted Facebook advertisement campaign complete an survey about vaccination practices. The advertisements recruit location (25 mile radius Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States), age (18-30 years), language (English). Results: Of the 2079 who responded visited study website, 1003 (48.2%) enrolled completed survey. average cost per US $1.36. Among those reported their code, 90.6% (881/972) participants lived within previously defined area. Receipt 1 dose or more 65.6% (351/535), 13.0% (45/347) men. These results differ from Minnesota estimates (53.8% 20.8% men) (34.5% 2.3% men). Conclusions: This shows that recruiting representative on Internet is cost-effective strategy. also highlights need assess uptake, as these considerably obtained using aggregated federal level.
