摘要: Abstract A series of experiments were conducted to study the flame spread and radiation characteristics for diesel tray fires against a sidewall. The width height sidewall varied. appearances rate, subsurface flow transverse fuel surface temperature analyzed. Results showed that has great influence on behavior due its restriction air entrainment. distribution was uneven along length tray, front propagating inclines outboard side edge (i.e. tray's long is not attaching sidewall) more oxygen, then heat transferred from through wall results in profiles. main being one short distance away When ratio width, H/W, less than 1, both rate increase with increasing enhanced transfer. For H/W > 1, these parameters decrease indicating strong entrainment by To estimate during propagation, multi-cylinder model proposed. By dividing whole into several cylindrical sub-flames, blockage effects are considered model. comparison calculated measured fluxes shows proposed reliable maximum error 20%. These findings will provide scientific supports fire monitoring contribute estimating radiative flux spreading flame.
