摘要: Abstract Relations between Pacific sea surface temperature (SST) and Canadian prairie wheat yield were investigated by correlation composites of SST during the nine lowest years, highest years. During winter, anomalies (SSTA) in North displayed a three-cell pattern alternating negative–positive–negative–correlation with yield, stretching diagonally from Gulf Alaska to Philippine Sea. Major asymmetry SSTA for low years those high implied nonlinear relation yield. As much stronger than yields seem more predictable yields. The also showed La Nina conditions equatorial region having significant influence on El Nino conditions. A new teleconnection index was constructed normalized SSTA. For March, this had 0.63 (and Spearman rank 0.43) 1960–1997.
