摘要: OBJECTIVE Cancer care is physically and psychologically challenging for both recipients caregivers. Caregiving in cancer an area that needs urgent attention India. Much of caregiving literature India limited to mental illnesses. This study thus examines the perceptions practices psychological among caregivers breast METHODS Participants were interviewed with aid a semistructured qualitative interview guide. included 39 35 different stages. Interviews transcribed, translated English, coded, themes derived further analysis. Informed consent from participants ethical clearance permission tertiary hospital obtained prior data collection. RESULTS Psychological as perceived by actions such encouraging, convincing recipients, companionship, maintaining stress-free environment. Caregivers particular felt meant reacting calmly sensitive queries nonfamily members, providing emotional support other family involvement religious activities. Taking on diverse responsibilities gave rise several unmet motivation decision making members. CONCLUSIONS Irrespective status (caregiver or recipient), this need structured counselling services be incorporated into standard protocol. explored context caregiver recipient dyad.
