摘要: [1] Turbulent interactions of momentum and scalars within the convective boundary layer (CBL) over a heterogeneous surface can have strong influence on both local flow properties regional weather climate. Using realistic flux data as well mean vertical soundings obtained from Soil-Moisture Atmosphere Coupling Experiment 2002 (SMACEX) initial conditions in large-eddy simulation (LES) model, this research attempts to further our understanding impact heterogeneity growing CBL environment. On basis newly proposed method, set realizations precisely replicating basic statistics (mean variance) cross correlation (relative actual fields at SMACEX) are used for series LES experiments. The impacts two aspects discussed study: (1) characteristic profiles (2) mixing scales CBL. Within examined study, potential temperature is more sensitive scale than specific humidity, variation velocity (both horizontal vertical) clearly reflects organization. profile coefficient calculated field introduced identify thermal blending height, good agreement compared predicted values using formulations literature. A commonly formulation height was found inadequately represent mixing. Another stability-dependent combining shear characteristics shown provide reasonable results.
