摘要: The foraging behavior of pale chub, Zacco platypus in experimental ponds was observed and the fish were classified according to whether they predominantly employed near-bed cruising bottom feeding (type B) or exhibited sit-and-wait near-surface cruising, with occasional drift surface S). Fish that both behaviors as type I. effects chub on trophic cascades examined pools into which river water pumped. Twenty assigned four treatments contained either no fish, six B, I, S. consistent throughout experiments, not related body length sex. All types preyed invertebrates, but B consumed more benthic algae than did algal biomass S I greater without a result cascades. In number algal-grazing invertebrates upper tiles reduced increase because direct grazing by fish. mechanisms reduction different between S; current, whereas threatened removed them. Individual differences mode had significant mechanism
