On the carrying capacity and the optimal number of visitors in tourism destinations

摘要: Tourism specialization on the one hand may be a successful tool to achieve fast economic growth, and, other hand, detrimental for natural resources. Finding right balance between benefits and environmental costs is essential reach sustainable development, ensuring that tourist numbers do not exceed carrying capacity of tourism destination. In this context, author analyses determination optimal number visitors in tourism-based economy shows if optimally determined long-run growth will possible. He also tourists strictly smaller than destination, such condition vital growth.
