摘要: Indigenous Complimentary Health Seeking Behavior among Caregivers of Sickle Cell Disorder in Nigeria Sickle cell disorder (SCD) comprises a group genetic red blood disorders affecting people. As result its incurability and lifelong treatment requirements, patients their caregivers sometimes seek diverse options instead the orthodox treatment. The study investigated indigenous complimentary health seeking behavior care givers sickle diseases UCH Ibadan. research design used for this was cohort study. population included primary secondary patients. Two hundred eighty six (286) respondents were non probabilistic sampling technique also used. instruments questionnaire in-depth interview. frequency simple percentage chi-square analysis to analyze data collected. prayers, herbal medicine spiritual sources most sourced services employed by caregiver disease with prayers been dependable. In addition, financial factor, traditional belief educational religion psychological perceived wellness/ not wellness, delay, cultural belief, severity environmental factor all affect tendency source use particular service system. recommended that there should be formalization re-formalization treatments adopted which include medicines, sources, exercises other methods.
