摘要: The purpose of this study was to compare the ability magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and mammography determine presence extent ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS). Retrospective review medical records women who underwent MRI mammographic examination during a 23-month period revealed 39 sites pure DCIS 33 breasts 32 women. No invasive or microinvasive tumor found. Women ranged age from 34 79 years (mean 53 years). In these breasts, both were done before surgery. Reports images reviewed if each positive for single multiple patterns associated with sites. Of involved, discovered by alone 21 (64%), 8 (24%), 1 (3%); 3 (9%), found at mastectomy without findings on MRI. had significantly higher sensitivity than detection (29/33=88% versus 9/33=27%, p<0.00001). Multiple disease present five breasts; better demonstrated three, one, equally one. predominant enhancement pattern linear/ductal 18 29 (62%); calcifications 9 (89%). nuclear grade similar; size lesions larger MRI; breast density did not impact results. study, more sensitive detection. known suspected DCIS, may have an important role play assessing breast.
