摘要: Objective: To evaluate speech performance, in quiet and noise, localization ability adult patients who had undergone bilateral simultaneous implantation. Study Design: Prospective multi-center study. Methods: Twenty-seven with profound or total hearing loss were bilaterally implanted a single-stage procedure, simultaneously activated (Med-El, Combi 40/40+). Subjects assessed before implantation at 3, 6 12 months after switch-on. Speech perception tests monaural binaural conditions performed noise using disyllabic words, coming from the front cocktail party background 5 loudspeakers. Sound measurements also loudspeakers positioned -90 degrees to +90 azimuth horizontal plane, stimulus. Results: There was advantage (77 +/- 5.0% condition, 67 5.3% for better ear, p /=60% n = 19) 'poor performers' (n 8). categorized as 'asymmetrical' (difference between their 2 unilateral scores >/=20%, 11) 'symmetrical' 16). The largest (bilateral compared ear) obtained poor performers: +19% +7% good performers (p < 0.05). In group of performers, there only cases symmetrical results ears 10). shown both 6) asymmetrical 2). conditions, sound improved performance ears. No preoperative factor (age, duration deafness, use aids, etiology, etc.) could predict nor which ear would be best. Conclusion: This study demonstrates (at implantation) intelligibility complex noisy environment. quiet, this is ears, can best candidates
