摘要: Several tufa complexes are known in the Slovak Karst which is a typical karst area of temperate climate. This built Mesozoic carbonates, mainly Triassic age. The systems drain carbonate plateaux and lead water to resurgences located valleys up 300 m deep. Below there Holocene fossil deposits that exceed 12 thickness. tufas include stromatolite, moss, phytoclastic, oncoidal, intraclastic facies. Extensive barrages once dammed upper reaches streams were formed narrow valleys. They composed predominantly moss facies stromatolites, with subordinate oncoidal phytoclastic Phytoclastic, dominant segments streams, gastropod shells charcoal fragments. Some small cushions also developed. Barrages areas longitudinal fluvial depositional system. Conversely, below on plateau slopes perched springline system formed. These comprise prograding cascades constructed by stromatolitic Presently, analysed inactive. stopped growing Late time, after was abrupt incision streams. caused downcutting into tufas, some places reaching bedrock. At present being precipitated from all sites studied.
