摘要: Abstract There is growing urgency to enhance the sustainability of existing and emerging cities. The science ecology, especially as it interacts with disciplines in social sciences urban design, has contributions make sustainable transformation systems. Not all possible transformations may lead toward sustainability. Ecological helps identify components resilience that can favor are more sustainable. To summarize dynamics choices involved transformations, a “metacity” framework presented, embracing ecological processes cities complementary those involving society, power, economy.
