摘要: OBJECTIVE--To determine the efficacy and morbidity of fine loop diathermy excision cervical transformation zone as applied to management outpatients with abnormal smears. DESIGN--Prospective programme trial six month follow up. SETTING--Two hospital based colposcopy clinics. PATIENTS--616 Patients aged 16-60 INTERVENTIONS--After colposcopic cytological assessment by under local anaesthesia in outpatient department. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES--Time complete treatment, immediate terms discomfort bleeding, findings at months. RESULTS--Treatment was completed a mean 3.47 minutes (SD 1.99). Immediate minimal, histological specimens were adequate over 90% cases. Almost two thirds patients treated their first visit clinic. 58 (9.4%) failed attend for up months one had hysterectomy. Of 557 who attended months, 506 (91%) normal cytologically 19 (3.4%) histologically confirmed persistence intraepithelial neoplasia. The overall failure rate technique 4.4%. CONCLUSION--Loop is an effective treatment low appropriate modality
