摘要: The azygos lobe (AL) is an accessory of the right lung with prevalence between 0.4 and 1.2%. aim present review to provide a better estimate frequency AL examine its relationships other variables such as population, diagnostic methods, co-occurring illnesses. Studies published 1899 October 2020 were searched through three electronic databases; Google Scholar, PubMed, JSTOR. Titles, abstracts, full texts retrieved entries screened determine their appropriateness for inclusion. A total 88 studies relating 1,033,083 subjects met inclusion criteria. random-effects meta-analysis yielded overall 0.30% (95% CI: 0.0024-0.0035, I2  = 97.9%). Linear regression subgroup analysis revealed negative correlation (ρ = -0.540, p <0.001) sample size; smaller sizes had higher prevalences. in individuals congenital pulmonary defects, 5.2% 0.0018-0.0086,  = 0%), was 17 times than (z = 6.65, <0.001), suggesting associations abnormalities possibly genetic predisposition. In addition evidence-based synthesis prevalence, this study demonstrates publication bias small-study effects anatomy literature. Awareness crucial radiologists when they interpret unusual radiological findings surgeons operate region.
