Ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysms: A study of incidence and mortality

摘要: The incidence of ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA) during 1980 in the Stockholm county and clinical fate patients were evaluated. Eighty-eight with AAA found, an 0.06 per thousand. overall mortality was 94 cent. Sixty-four reached hospital, twenty-three received a correct diagnosis; thirteen operated upon five survived. Autopsy or operation revealed that most ruptures retroperitoneal (88 cent) only two (2 extended above renal arteries. It is concluded high rate following rupture more dependent failure to operate than on operative mortality.
