摘要: Purpose To use quantitative susceptibility mapping (QSM) to investigate changes in cartilage canals the distal femur of juvenile goats after their surgical transection. Methods Chondronecrosis was surgically induced right medial femoral condyles four 4-day-old goats. Both operated and control knees were harvested at 2, 3, 5, 10 weeks surgeries. Ex vivo MRI scans conducted 9.4 Tesla using TRAFF (relaxation time along a fictitious field)-weighted fast spin echo imaging QSM detect areas chondronecrosis canal abnormalities. Histological sections from these same stained with hematoxylin eosin safranin O evaluated assess affected tissues. Results histological -weighted images demonstrated focal chondronecrosis, evidenced by pyknotic chondrocyte nuclei, loss matrix staining, altered MR image contrast. At increasing points surgery, progressive eventual disappearance abnormal observed QSM. Conclusion Abnormal directly visualized chondronecrosis.
