摘要: Abstract Extracellular matrix (ECM) is an essential component of cartilage in articular and intervertebral disc (IVD), where chondrocytes, annulus fibrosus, nucleus pulposus cells reside, respectively. ECM proteins provide important biological biochemical functions to chondrocytes tissues, including the regulation intercellular communication. Several transcription factors SOX9 β-catenin have been suggested regulate synthesis and/or degeneration. Since pathologic mechanisms several types Osteoarthritis IVD degeneration remain undefined, elucidation by will additional insights musculoskeletal disease pathology possible therapeutic opportunities.
