Stimuli response polypropylene membranes as selective separators for alkaline ions

摘要: Abstract Poly( N ‐isopropylacrylamide), copolymer of poly( -isopropylacrylamide)-co-di(ethylene glycol)methyl ether methacrylate, poly(acrylic acid) or acid-co-di(ethylene methacrylate) was grafted to polypropylene membranes by means plasma treatment. Dielectric discharge reactor applied for membrane activation. The polymers exhibited excellent conformational responses temperature pH. prepared were impermeable water at room and pH below 4.5, while 43 °C above 4.5 the volumetric flux reached 30 L/m 2 h 0.05 MPa. Permeation KCl, NaCl LiCl tested in a process direct dialysis. best fluxes obtained 4.5. It shown that DEGMEM blocks able participate transport potassium, sodium lithium ions with these more selective Li than other ions.
