摘要: An enzyme immunoassay membrane test (Directigen RSV) for the detection of respiratory syncytial virus in clinical specimens was compared prospectively with isolation cell culture and direct immunofluorescence (IF). A total 315 nasopharyngeal wash from pediatric patients were examined. Directigen RSV 86.1% sensitive 91.3% specific positive by and/or IF, 88.6% agreement. The false-positive rate 16%; 2 20 giving reactions true-positives blocking assay. Twenty-seven (8.5%) whose results initially uninterpretable due to filtration difficulties diluted upon retesting produced acceptable results. Sixty-three viral isolates IF identifications antigens representing seven groups other than also found; cross-reactions between viruses not observed. will be useful as an immediate procedure facilities lacking a comprehensive virology laboratory.
