Management of Medullary Osteomyelitis of the Humerus

摘要: Osteomyelitis is a severe infection of bone and particularly challenging to treat when involving long bones. the humerus an uncommon but difficult problem, guidelines treatment have been drawn from literature on tibial femoral osteomyelitis. We present our technique for treating adult hematogenous medullary osteomyelitis humerus. Steps include following: (1) deltopectoral approach humerus, (2) formation cortical window in proximal (3) biopsy reaming intramedullary canal distal under fluoroscopy, (4) lavage canal, (5) placement antibiotic-impregnated antibiotic beads stainless steel wire into (6) long-term antibiotics laboratory monitoring white blood cell count erythrocyte sedimentation rates levels. Preliminary clinical results with at least 12 months' follow-up resulted excellent without complications. recommend this it affords reliable familiar
