摘要: Phototherapy is the use of visible light for treatment hyperbilirubinemia in newborn. This relatively common therapy lowers serum bilirubin level by transforming into water-soluble isomers that can be eliminated without conjugation liver. The dose phototherapy largely determines how quickly it works; dose, turn, determined wavelength light, intensity (irradiance), distance between and infant, body surface area exposed to light. Commercially available systems include those deliver via fluorescent bulbs, halogen quartz lamps, light-emitting diodes, fiberoptic mattresses. Proper nursing care enhances effectiveness minimizes complications. Caregiver responsibilities ensuring effective irradiance delivery, maximizing skin exposure, providing eye protection care, carefully monitoring thermoregulation, maintaining adequate hydration, promoting elimination, supporting parent-infant interaction.
