摘要: Preliminary findings of an ongoing study the distribution alexithymia in different diagnostic-groups psychosomatically ill in-patients (n = 240, will be increased to n 400) are reported. Alexithymiea is measured simultaneousely by Levels Emotional Awareness Scale (LEAS, a performance-test) and 20-item Toronto Alexithymia (TAS 20, self-report-scale). Measured LEAS compared with other diagnostic groups (affective, anxiety compulsive-obsessive disorders; adjustment eating disorders), patients somatoform disorders showed decreased ability aware communicate their emotional states. This finding which meets theoretical considerations about origin could not found TAS 20. The 20 did differentiate between groups, but - accordance two self-report-scales (STAI for self reported as personality trait SCL-90-R somatic und psychic complaints) higher mean scores at onset than end treatment. Methodical implications scales discussed.
