摘要: The Earthߣs crust is shaped by a wide range of fluid flows and their characteristic instabilities. Here we consider the flow silicate melts, either within or as surface lava flows, way in which these are affected variable viscosity due to cooling yield strength resulting fromsolidification. These effects invariably lead non-uniformor three-dimensional patterns, particularly fingering channelisation. In case solidifying free-surface there is, addition, structures deformation styles depending on conditions. Parallels can be drawn with channeling instabilities that occur dissolution porous matrix precipitation reactions during percolation an interstitial fluid.
