摘要: Migration of an implanted prosthesis due to aseptic loosening is difficult detect without regular imaging. In this paper, a low-cost, non-radiographic, robust diagnostic technique presented, which can the migration humeral component elbow prosthesis. The system consists single magnet sensor configuration and data are based on variation in magnetic field. was enclosed titanium alloy embedded at reference point bone ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE). A layer cement then placed between sensor. An algorithm linked with Savitzky- Golay (SG) filter developed that could decouple, convert, field signal provide both linear angular displacement. also designed eliminate cross talk non-linearity effect magnet. highest resolution achieved 0.3 mm detectable range 4 x/y axis 8-20 z-axis (along canal). rotational 0.5 3.0 degrees axis. repeatability calibrated analysed showed standard deviation 0.05 over 150 cycles. dependent upon operating conditions positioning. There no interference from alloy, nor UHMWPE. This offers alternative non-radiographic option for measuring prostheses.
