S117 Effects of Intensive Cell Phone (Philips Genic 900) Use on the Rat Kidney Tissue

摘要: PURPOSE To investigate effects of electromagnetic radiation (EMR) emitted by cell phones on the rat kidney tissue. MATERIALS AND METHODS Twenty-one male Albino rats were divided into 3 groups, each comprising 7 rats. Group 1 was exposed to a phone in speech mode for 8 hours/day 20 days and their kidneys removed. 2 EMR then removed after an interval days. Cell used present study Philips Genie 900, which has highest specific absorption rate market. RESULTS Light microscopic examination tissues obtained from first group revealed glomerular damage, dilatation Bowman's capsule, formation large spaces between tubules, tubular perivascular edema, inflammatory infiltration. The mean severity score 4.64 ± 1.7 1, 4.50 0.8 2, 0 3. While there no significant difference (P > .05), scores groups significantly higher than that control = .001 each). CONCLUSION Considering damage tissue caused EMR-emitting phones, high-risk individuals should take protective measures.
