摘要: The mammalian nervous system is relatively autonomous in lipid metabolism. In particular, Schwann cells the peripheral system, and oligodendrocytes astrocytes central are highly active synthesis. Previously, enzymatic synthesis liver has been demonstrated to be under control of sterol regulatory element-binding protein (SREBP) transcription factors. Here, we put forward view that SREBP factors glia lipids involved various glia–neuron interactions, thereby affecting a range neuronal functions. This minireview compiles current knowledge on involvement cell SREBPs myelination axons proposes role for astrocyte functioning system.
