摘要: AbstractSudden Stratospheric Warming (SSW) events influence the Arctic Oscillation and mid-latitude extreme weather. Previous work showed stratosphere to be influenced by Madden-Julian (MJO) that SSW frequency increases with an increase of MJO amplitude, expected in a warmer climate. It is shown here zonal asymmetry both background state forcing plays dominant role, leading either enhancement or suppression MJO-like forcing. When applying circumglobal dry dynamic core model, MJOforced waves can change general circulation three ways affect total vertical Eliassen-Palm flux stratosphere.
