摘要: Peptide YY is a 36-residue gastrointestinal hormone which inhibits both pancreatic and gastric secretion. We have isolated cDNA encoding the peptide precursor by screening rat intestinal lambda gt11 library with an antiserum directed against porcine hormone. The nucleotide sequence of encodes 98-residue protein (molecular weight, 11, 121) has amino acid identical to that YY. Rat preceded immediately signal followed cleavage-amidation Gly-Lys-Arg plus 31 additional acids. Thus similar in structure two related peptides, polypeptide neuropeptide Y. RNA blot hybridizations reveal gene much more actively expressed pancreas than previously realized. In situ localized cells exclusively exocrine pancreas. abundance one its target organs, pancreas, suggests paracrine mechanism for regulating enzyme
