摘要: BACKGROUND Studies of alcohol use presume valid assessment measures. To evaluate this presumption, we examined the concordance as measured by ecological momentary (EMA) self-reports, transdermal concentration readings via Secure Continuous Remote Alcohol Monitor (SCRAM), and retrospective self-reports Timeline Follow-Back (TLFB) among adults experiencing homelessness. METHODS Forty-nine who reported misuse (mean age = 47, SD = 9; 57% Black; 82% men) were recruited from a homeless shelter. For 4 weeks, was assessed: (i) 5 times or more per day EMA, (ii) every 30 minutes SCRAM device worn on ankle, (iii) TLFB for past month at end study period. There 1,389 days observations intensity 49 participants. RESULTS EMA data agreed 73% days, with an interrater agreement Kappa = 0.46. A multilevel analysis 3 measures yielded statistically significant correlations 0.40 (day level) 0.63 (person between SCRAM. detected 49, 38, 33% days SCRAM, TLFB, respectively. intensity, resulted in 0.46 0.78 level). The either weak, especially level. CONCLUSIONS This is first to examine estimates using methods approach quantifying use, given its relatively low cost, participant burden, ease use. Furthermore, any stigma associated wearing reporting person may be attenuated which appealing studies stigmatized underserved populations.
