摘要: Plant flavonoid metabolism has served as a platform for understanding range of fundamental biological phenomena, including providing some the early insights into subcellular organization metabolism. Evidence assembled over past three decades points to component enzymes membrane-associated complex centered on entry-point enzyme, chalcone synthase (CHS), with flux branch pathways controlled by competitive protein interactions. Flavonoid have also been found in nucleus variety plant species, raising possibility alternative, or moonlighting functions these proteins this compartment. Here, we present evidence that CHS interacts MOS9, nuclear-localized linked epigenetic control R genes mediate effector-triggered immunity. Overexpression MOS9 results reduction transcript levels and metabolite profile substantially intersects effects null mutation CHS. These suggest MOS9-CHS interaction may point previously-unknown mechanism controlling expression highly dynamic pathway.
