摘要: Valpromide is largely used in the therapy of affective disorders for its presumed thymoregulating activity. So, it often associated with tricyclic antidepressant treatment. Previous clinical studies lead us to consider possibility an interaction between valpromide and antidepressants, which could result increase plasma concentrations. But no pharmacokinetic study has been realized up now order clearly demonstrate such a phenomenon. The authors studied amitriptyline nortriptyline levels two groups ten patients receiving 125 mg amitriptyline, once day, during 20 days. In second group, also received 600 daily after days on amitriptyline. first group concentrations remained stable tenth twentieth day. addition resulted significant levels: from 70.5 +/- 35 105.5 49 ng/ml (p less than 0.0003) 61.0 34 100.5 65 0.01) nortriptyline.
