摘要: We examined three groups of wild baboons (Papio cynocephalus) in Amboseli National Park, Kenya, to determine the prevalence aerobic antibiotic-resistant fecal bacteria nonhuman primates with and without contact human refuse. Using standard isolation replica plating techniques, we found only low numbers gram-negative enteric two leading an undisturbed existence their natural habitat having limited or no humans. However, resistance was significantly higher among from third group living close proximity a tourist lodge daily unprocessed Conjugation studies analysis cell DNA by gel electrophoresis showed that many cases plasmid-borne transferable. These data suggest frequent debris have proportion than do conspecifics this contact. The findings further such animals may constitute heretofore overlooked source antibiotic environment.
