摘要: Understanding the gas diffusion and evaporation behavior in a polymeric resin under vacuum is of great importance because many types polymer composite products are manufactured by applying to production system. This article proposes theoretical model that can describe bubble growth combining mechanisms evaporation. To confirm such model, we carried out experimental analyses including experiments with bell jar or tube as well vacuum-assisted transfer molding (VARTM). Particularly VARTM process, it was identified bubbles were nucleated grew at fiber-matrix interface due applied pressure. Those results suggest more attention should be paid material processing prevent from existing final products. POLYM. ENG. SCI., 2012. © 2012 Society Plastics Engineers
