Cobalt-catalyzed selective dehydrocoupling polymerization of prochiral silanes and diols

摘要: Abstract As a kind of material possessing thermal stability, biocompatibility and degradability, polysilylethers (PSEs) have potential applications. Different catalytic systems been developed for the synthesis PSEs. However, resulted PSEs similar structure, which is unfavorable adjusting its properties. We herein synthesized series novel with pendant Si H groups via cobalt-catalyzed selective dehydrocoupling polymerization. Various diols prochiral silanes are suitable this method. This could also be obtained Co-catalyzed one-pot two-step process. Furthermore, asymmetric polymerization was studied high-Mn PSE obtained. After cleavage by methyl magnesium iodide, chiral silane high yield moderate enantioselectivity.
